When we started Evolved Creative we had one goal in mind (other than amazing comfy clothing), we didn’t want to be a fast-fashion brand. That’s why when we looked for suppliers we checked out them and their supply chains for accreditation.
We’ve started with our sweatshirts so we are going to talk about those in this blog. Our sweatshirts come from a WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production) certified supplier. This enables them (and us) to monitor every step of the entire manufacturing process, from yarn to garment. Our suppliers have dedicated in-country teams regularly visiting and inspecting all the factories we use.
The WRAP Principles are based on generally accepted international workplace standards, local laws and workplace regulations, and include the spirit or language of relevant conventions of the International Labor Organization (ILO), the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD)’s Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.
The Principles encompass human resources management, health and safety, environmental practices, and legal compliance including import/export and customs compliance and security standards. The Principles are meant to promote responsible business practices and sustainability in supply chain management, and contribute to the advancement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in particular SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).
Our sweatshirts are also PETA-Approved Vegan, they are officially recognised as 100% free of any animal ingredients. The PETA-Approved Vegan logo was established to label products that no animal had to suffer for, and highlight vegan fashion items commitment to animals. We recognise the importance of our responsibility to ensure the manufacturing methods used match the ideals of those who love and wear our products and we are therefore thrilled to add this cruelty-free stamp to our products.
Lastly, we have to print on our sweatshirts for the perfect finishing. Our inks are vegan and eco-friendly! Our inks have no toxins, animal by-products are not used to create the ink, and are not tested on animals, and they are OEKO-TEX® certified. We use Kornit machines to print onto our sweatshirts, all Kornit machines use water based eco-friendly inks that are vegan friendly and not tested on animals. In fact their sustainability policy is big on eco.

So this all sounds good, there must be some drawback right?! Slow fashion means just that, slow. We print each product when ordered, that means we don’t produce more than we need, and keep our carbon footprint down, that does mean your order isn’t going to be turning up tomorrow, but we firmly believe that this is the best way for the environment, especially as a start up. When we don’t quite get your order right (unfortunately we aren’t perfect, who knew?!), all products that fail quality checks will be donated to charity.
Don’t worry, we will always do our best to get your order to you as soon as we can!
